* Pneu Pneu Pneu - a group choreography ( for 8 dancers ): created for Aura Dance Theater in Lithuania

Commissioned by Lithuanian dance company AURA DANCE THEATER, a Japanese choreographer Kenzo Kusuda created this group choreography Pneu Pneu Pneu as a sincere tribute and homage to Lithuania; a very beautiful, lovely country with generous and spirited people over many generations who have paved their ways through the often turbulent journey in their history, while accumulating a very symbiotic assemblage of unique and peculiar souls as their distinctive signature. Especially reflecting on the collective memories and dreams of the First Republic of Lithuania (1918 – 1940), this group piece Pneu Pneu Pneu was presented in December 2015 at The Historical Presidential Palace of The Republic of Lithuania in Kaunas, a former President House of Lithuania.

* Invisitor's Vista ( * a group piece for 5 dancers - 2005 )

" ..their total image resembles a perfect organism. They look vulnerable yet strongly authentic at the same time. Invisitors' Vista is wild and lively and every moment contains fresh dynamics brought to surface. This organism seems to react quite rapidly to every subtle change in atmosphere. "

( by Carmen Wiske / Phosphor Magazine : for invisitors' vista )

" ...what is captivating is not because of the bizarre combination of movements, but because of the poetical substratum..."

( by AD Haags Courant : for invisitors' vista )

" With this choreography, a Japanese Kenzo Kusuda has proved even more distinctly than his previous three pieces that he is a talented (dance) maker. "

( by De Volkskrant : for invisitors' vista )

* Hypnos Loco Loco Locomotion ( * a group piece for 3 dancers - 2003 )

" ..by way of Kusuda's fluent and intense movement language, his ability to interweave disparate emotional layers, his sense of irony and, not least, by the breathtaking dancing, is Hypnos Loco Loco Locomotion a performance both touching and impressive in equal measures. "

( by Isabella Steenbergen / Theater Maker Magazine : for Hypnos Loco Loco Locomotion )

* FLORA ( * a solo created for a wonderful Senegalese dancer Alioune Diagne at KORZO Theater - 2011 )

With Flora, Kenzo Kusuda dives into a cherished childhood memory. A memory of the unconditional love he received as a child from his dog "Flora". It was only later that he realized that Flora also meant flower. For him, there are no words or actions that can describe the magic and enchantment of the significance of flowers in this world. Together with Senegalese dancer Alioune Diagne, Kusuda takes you to a world filled with fragrant vitality and joy, as a tribute to unconditional love.

" Het leukste concert ooit is BARE, een choreografie voor zes musici..., BARE is een retraite naar de verkoelende bergtoppen van de klassiek muziek "

( by Cultureel Persbureau 2014: for BARE )

* BARE ( * choreography for 6 musicians of New European Ensemble - 2014 )

========

The New European Ensemble and Korzo Production present BARE.

Enchanting music-theater with humor, tragedy and poetry. The musicians play the leading protagonists roles and expose themselves bold and bare; not only their dreams and ambitions, but also their struggle to survive and exist.

People have an inner world of ambitions and desires, the manifestation of which is especially conspicuous in the life of a musician. Musicians carry sometimes enormous instruments about with them nearly everywhere they go and invest thousands of hours and more in their craft. Some musicians spend years working to pay off a loan for an instrument and others may spend more of their waking life with their instrument than the people they love. What drives anyone to go to such length? Each musician has a rich love story to tell about their instrument and the sometimes crazy things they have done to realize their dreams and ambitions.

Musicians will struggle and fail and pick themselves up to try again. They will cast aside their differences to cooperate with each other in complex feats of synchronization. They will employ razor sharp animal-instinct and other tacit methods of communication to realize intricate, nearly impossible patterns and harmonies suggested by Australian composer Angus Barnacle's score. With the assistance of Japanese choreographer Kenzo Kusuda, the musicians will give a deeply revealing performance regarding the unspoken world of musicianship.

Ultimately a group of ordinary people will be seen to work together to realize an extraordinary musical vision while inviting the audience to make their own musical sense of the rich and diverse composition of lives, dreams, bodies, instruments, lights, patterns and harmonies revealed by BARE.

In BARE, the New European Ensemble musicians and their inner most hopes and dreams will be candidly etherized upon the stage.
