MERGE

As one of the main collaborators to these 2 main creators Sato Endo & Nicola Unger, a Japanese dancer Kenzo Kusuda has also been invited to be a part of MERGE Project as a dancer since 2014-.

-

MERGE is an ongoing project. With its organic structure, interactive bodily movement of live performers and lively manipulated graphical animation images, everything merges into one unity with its magical chemistry; enabling each MERGE performance to give birth to both solid foundation and distinctive signature that keeps updating itself everytime it is performed live on stage, that keeps on generating very fresh and intuitive adaptations to each different venues and situations.

MERGE has been presented in various venues and festivals, such as; At the open-air, outdoor location on the River Schie / Delfshaven area in Rotterdam ( 2014 ), Camera Japan Festival in Rotterdam ( 2015 ), Wijnhaven Festival in Rotterdam ( 2016 ), Rijksmuseum Amsterdam ( 2016, the guest performance at the special exhibition and book presentation event " A narrow bridge - Japan and The Netherlands since 1600 " at Rijksmuseum Amsterdam 2016 ), Stadsschouwburg Rotterdam, Moving Media Route program / Cinedans Festival in Amsterdam ( at EYE Film, 2016 ), Winterlicht Schiedam ( 2017 ), Season's Opening Program at Theater Rotterdam ( 2017 ), etc.

* For the special opening performance edition at Camera Japan Festival 2015 in Lantern/Venster Rottedam ( * watch the Youtube video above ), a Japanese dancer Kenzo Kusuda is performing LIVE on stage with his own shadows, together with striking visual tapestries, forms and structures animated by both MERGE-creators Nicola Unger & Sato Endo.
